I am sitting here on my queen size bed, with my chunky old basset hound staring at me, trying to figure out what to say about myself. What would people want to know about the person behind the Just Honest Blog? Would they want to know that I am addicted to eating ice? Probably not. Or that I steal soup spoons from restaurants? No, probably not that either. Maybe they want to know that I started writing entries for this blog to help heal from some of the pain in my life. And that getting the thoughts out of my head and onto paper made them less scary and more manageable. Instead of big stressful thoughts, they became tiny insignificant words on paper. I no longer had to carry them. I was doing a lot of reading before starting this blog. I was reading mainly self help books. My favorite was “Didn’t See That Coming” by Rachel Hollis. She truly helped me feel far less alone with what I was going through and she made me want to do that for others. So with this blog, I hope I can do just that.
